One lower corner just showing, but an exceptional copy still in its plain paper dust jacket. The first-hand account of the Indian troubles that rocked the Jesuit missions and Spanish authorities in Baja California between 1730 and 1740. Father Taraval (1700-1767) was a Milanese-born Jesuit who served in the missions of Baja California from 1730 to 1751. His previously unpublished journal details a turbulent episode of Indian raids and attacks on the missions and the Spanish military response to the Indian uprising.
