Indiana Battle Flag Commission; McCormick, David I. (Compiler); Wilson, Mrs. Mindwell Crampton (Editor) : Indiana Battle Flags and A Record of Indiana Organizations in the Mexican, Civil, and Spanish-American Wars, Including the Movements of Troops in the Civil War, as follows: Actions, Affairs, Attacks, Battles, Campaigns, Defenses, Expeditions, Marches, Movements, Raids and Reconnoissances (sic). Indianapolis : Indiana Battle Flag Commission, 1929. No additional printings indicated. Members of the commission include Frank E. Strayer, Willard S. Boyle, and David I. McCormick. Size is octavo (8vo), 9.125"/23cm h. Bound in publisher's royal blue cloth over boards, gilt lettering to spine, double bands blindstamped to head and tail of spine; triple blindstamped frame to both boards. Plain white endpapers. [1-4], 5-682, [683-684] blank; three unpaginated coated sheets illustrations (one in color). Compiler's preface; short section of speeches about flags from the wars; much longer section detailing Indiana units in the wars and their organization and activities; index. Condition notes: moderate wear/rubbing, and a several stray marks to boards with darkening/loss of brightness to spine; moderate soiling to edges. Spine ends rolled, head spine end shows three closed tears, corners bumped. Interior tanned but unmarked but for seller's notations. Spine weakening around p 226. No dust jacket, likely as issued.
