Paperback large trade, good plus condition, black & white photos centre spread, black & white drawings, bottom corner creased front cover, minor edgewear, stickers inside front cover, old price marks. 320 pp. Inky Stephensen, born in Queensland, was a remarkable and controversial Australian man of letters. Originally a communist, he became a right-wing nationalist. He was associated with the Fanfrolico Press in London, before setting up his own short-lived Mandrake Press. Upon his return to Australia in 1932, he established the short-lived Endeavour Press in association with Norman Lindsay and 'The Bulletin' magazine. This prize-winning biography will interest anyone learning about Australian cultural and political history. The author is a long-time publishing editor at the University of Queensland Press. SCARCE.
