About This Item
Ann Arbor: University of Michigan Press. Fair. 1916. Hardcover. Published by the students of the Univ. Of Michigan--"A magazine of literature and opinions. " Volume 18 -19 The spine is gone & the covers are barely holding (spine is loosely laid in the book, however, so it can be used if the book is rebacked). Contents are tight. End papers chipped & torn, contents clean and unmarked. Just noticed--two page has several sentences excised. Varied paging. This copy belonged to the managing editor and has his name written in an old hand in ink. Interesting articles of University of Michigan sports (including football) -- one laments decision to leave the Western Conference (now the Big Ten) because the teams no longer have good competition, another talks about the (negative) impact of co-eds on sports at Michigan (with a number of replies in the following issue), another discusses the fact Michigan sports are pure, but it is hard to recruit good talent when other schools will pay their athletes with "donations" from wealthy alums. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
