Hartford: American Publishing Company, 1881. One of Twain's most appreciated works, first published in 1872. This is a Good copy of a Later Printing from less than a decade later. Brown cloth binding, decoratively stamped. Gilt titling on spine and front cover, which features a Greek temple, a mosque, an elephant, and a pyramid as signifiers of Twan's interests here. Clean text; 651 pages; with 234 illustrations. Previous-owner stamp to the bottom of the page ends. Rubbed at the margins; spine gilt dulled. Both gutters have cracked and need reinforcement. This is the major defect; while fairly minor, please note the condition issue. Quercus must offer this as a Binding Copy, in need of restoration or repair. . Later Printing. Hard Cover.
