LONDON: WHITBREAD & CO, 1948 Illustrated paper covered boards repeating the design of the dust Jacket. 245x160mm approx. 66pp. 7 colour plates and 37 illustrations and 7 sketch maps in b/w. Published by Whitbread's Brewery in a series of books on Beer Brewing and Imbibing and called "The Whitbread Library" the first two published simultaneously were this book and "Whitbread's Breweryl". Together they form an interesting and informative history of the famous brewery it's inns in London and the South East mainly in Kent where it had it's centre of Hop growing and on the social history of drinking.Inns of Kent is Vol 6 in the series. Copies either presentation or complimentary have the name of the recipient on a bookplate pasted to the front paste down and bear the "Whitbread 1742 " Logo. Good/Good (Book- Shelf wear- colour loss to extremities of boards. Offset browning to ffep.Whitbread 1742 plate to front paste down with neat ink name and compliments slip loosely laid in. Dust Jacket- Edge rubbing and chips but no notable soiling and now in a removable proprietary protective sleeve). Please see our image of the actual book offered for sale.
