Original blue cloth with black decorations and lettering stamped to the front board; gold gilt lettering stamped to the spine. Black endpapers. All edges have been stained blue to match the boards. 19 black and white illustrations throughout the text. Boards and spine bumped with discrete, expert restoration. Old bookseller's stamp to the backside of the ffep. Internally tight and clean with a few old pencil notations to text. Hinges professionally reinforced. Overall, a presentable copy. very good The first edition of this study on the history of public perception of "sanity" and "insanity" while working towards a more relevant and practical definition for both. This book contains numerous case studies, as well as 19 illustrations of patients suffering from different forms of mental illness.
