Octavo, xiv, 236, 5 [New Naturalist publication list] pages with 49 maps and diagrams plus 24 pages of plates (8 in colour). Cloth slightly marked and bumped; edges and preliminaries slightly foxed; a very good copy with the dustwrapper a little rubbed and chipped with a little loss (chiefly to the spine). With the contemporary ink ownership signature of British entomologist Dr Adrian C. Pont on the front flyleaf. Number 36 in the New Naturalist Library. 'Dr Williams's own personal observations and adventures have played a fundamental part in demonstrating the extent to which insects migrate. His opportunities of studying the problem in remote corners of the world - such as British Guiana, Costa Rica, Egypt, Tanganyika and the Pyrenees - make the book as exciting as a detective story' (dustwrapper).
