About This Item

London England: Andrew Deutsch, 1979. Hardback. Price clipped to D/J. The author starts off by explaining to how smarten up your furniture without actually refinishing it - how to get rid of cigarette burns, chipped veneers and missing inlay pieces, stratches and gouges, black spots and rings. Then he goes on to tell you how to deal with crackled or cracked finishes, including a special note about Danish modern. He explains how the experts 'antique' a piece of furniture and exactly what to use in order to do this; he explains further how they finish raw wood. His next section is 'Hints and Asides on The Treasures You Might Find in the Attic - or more likely in the local Oxfam shop'. He concludes the book with a most valuable section on inexpensive paint removers. He has illustrated the book throughout with amusing but constructive line drawings. Illustrated. 93 pp. ( We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions etc.). 5th Impression.
