About This Item
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1944. Stated first edition, 1944. Author's first novel, set along the shores of the Bay of Fundy. Signed by the author with "For Robin", April 26, 1944, with a handwritten letter signed by the author which refers to Robin and to her husband who returned home by ship on Christmas night. Condition is good with fair dustjacket. Gray hardcover with dustjacket. The book has rubbing to the edges and spine ends, good hinges, sound text block, pages 124/125 age-toned from an old newspaper clipping with remains of an old rubber band on the same page, otherwise clean pages with no other names or markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [2.50] and has some old transparent spotting and tape repairs to the rear panel, spine rubbed and chipped with no loss of title or author, fairly little paper loss.. Signed and with a Letter By the Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
