About This Item
Ithaca, NY: Young Communist League of Ithaca, 1935. 8.5x11 inch mimeographed handbill, "YCL Ithaca, NY 1935 CP" penned in bottom margin, minor edgewear, very good. Graphic depicts Black and white protesters carrying banners against war, the ROTC, "Roosevelt's new coolie-wage scheme," etc. "Instead of a 'Day of peace,' Memorial Day has come to be a day of 'Patriotic' jingo-speeches and military parades and displays. Instead of a day against war, it is on Memorial Day that we are [sic] the forces of war in full glory!!! We, the toiling youth and students will be the ones to do the killing and be killed. And for whom?? For the same Morgan whose loans to England dragged us into the first World War..." Announces a rally in Stewart Park.
