Madison: State Historical Society of Wisconsin, 1928. HB. Blue cloth, gilt lettering on spine, 8vo, xx, 491pp. Frontis photo of Schurz. Letters of the Prussian revolutionary who escaped to America after the German revolts of 1848 were repressed, helped raise German enlistments in the Civil War and was a General in the Union Army. He later was a senator from Missouri. No marks in book, binding tight. Covers show very light soiling. Book condition VG.
