About This Item

Cummings Publishing Company, Menlo Park, California, 1973. First Edition. Softcover (Illustrated). Good Condition. Illustrator: Photographic. About the author, acknowledgements, introduction by author, notes, further reading, references and index. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography. Illustrated (wraparound) paperback binding with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The title does say it all, and the area that the author is including as Melanesia (a very fluid area in the Pacific region) is defined by the" ... western end of New Guinea through Fiji, including the Bismarck Archipelago (containing new Britain, new Ireland, and the Admiralties), the Torres Strait islands, the Solomons, the New Hebrides, and New Caledonia." – from the introduction page 1. Creasing of the book corners, and the panels show small creases as well. Rubbing of the book edges and there is sunning to the panels. Remnants of a sticker can be seen to the top right hand corner of the front panel. A previous owner has removed their details on the title page by using "whiteout". A little fading to the back strip. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 124 pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Photographic. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo.
