London: Faber and Faber, 1974. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. First edition. Signed by Priest to the title page. Octavo; 256pp.; blue textured paper boards, in dust jacket. A fine, as new copy in a very good, unclipped jacket with a moderate amount of fading to the blue ink on spine and along fore-edges. A collectible copy of this science fiction classic, generally regarded as one of the best of the 20th century.
Synopsis
Christopher Priest was born in Cheshire, England. He has published eleven novels, three short-story collections, and a number of other books, including critical works, biographies, novelizations, and children’s nonfiction. In 1996 Priest won the World Fantasy Award and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for his novel The Prestige , which was adapted into a film by Christopher Nolan in 2006. His most recent novel, The Separation , won both the Arthur C. Clarke Award and the British Science Fiction Association Award. Priest and his wife, the writer Leigh Kennedy, live in Hastings, England, with their twin children. John Clute was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1940, but has lived most of his life in England. He has won three Hugo Awards for his nonfiction. Recent work includes Appleseed , a novel, The Darkening Garden: A Short Lexicon of Horror , and Canary Fever: Reviews.

All books ship free with tracking to domestic addresses via USPS Media Mail. In most cases, delivery takes place within a three to ten day window, although the vicissitudes of USPS may apply. Unless otherwise requested, expedited domestic purchases ship via USPS Priority Mail; overseas orders via USPS First Class International. Heavy or oversized books may incur additional shipping charges, as may books shipped to overseas destinations. Any additional charges required will be communicated promptly.
We take safe shipping very seriously; all of our books are packaged in new cardboard boxes amply cushioned with biodegradable packing peanuts. Pamphlets and other flat materials items are ocassionally shipped in bubble-mailers with internal cardboard supports. All books with dust jackets are fitted with brand new archival protectors prior to shipping.
