London: Cassell and Company Limited, 1893. 1st Edition . Very Good Minus. 6 x 8.5 inches (15 x 21 cm). First issue with price corrected by hand to list of works facing half title page. Ads dated 7G-3.93. Blue textured cloth binding. Illustrated in gilt to front board. Spine dulled and browned, with rubbing to ends. Board darkened to edges and have slight wear to corners. Slight lean to binding. Patterned endpapers with previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown endpaper: Mathias McDonnell Bodkin, with Bodkin's signature to leading blank, and name stamp to title page. Browning and foxing to frontis tissue guard, a couple of spots of foxing to the colour sketch map. A little foxing to page edges. Clean text throughout. Overall condition is Very Good Minus. Size: 6 x 8.5 inches (15 x 21 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: 8vo. x, 277, [3] (blank), [16] (ads)
