Literally the work of a lifetime, it is a story of great adventure, far travel, and true wisdom, f a deeply felt love story, and above all of the growth of man." With an intriduction about the author by Leonard Bacon. First edition in original, clipped, jacket in a clear protective sheet. General wear to jacket, especially extremities, with some tears at folds, chipping and rubbing. Tan cloth over boards with black lables on front and back and gilded and black lettering. Light scuffing to covers. Endpapers are a map of 'Islandia' and its continent. Printed on thin paper, long edge slightly deckled, and top edge stained green by publisher (lightened slightly). Inteior is very lighty toned, otherwise clean and clear.
