London: The Argonaut Press, 1928. Book. Illus. by 5 Maps, 2 Illustrations. Very Good. Half-Leather. First in English. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Vellum spine on green cloth boads, an unnumbered copy of 975 limited edition. This copy has never been read, as top edges of signatures are uncut. No prior owner marks. A bit soiled, with a tiny snag on the spine. Varthema travelled 1502 to 1508 to Syria, Arabia, Bengal. Protected in mylar dustjacket. Translated by John Winter Jones in 1863 for the Hakluyt Society. With a discourse on Varthema and his travels by Sir Richard Carnac Temple.
