About This Item
Hardcover. Good. Hardcover bound in green cloth stamped in darker blue-green. 1886 publication date. No marks or writing in book. Binding is rubbed and has some soil and a couple spots (see left edge of front side in accompanying photograph.). Tips of corners and spine ends lightly bumped and a little worn but not fraying. End papers and adjacent leaves are a bit toned. Hinges holding up nicely. All edges colored blue-green. This project was Randolph Caldecott's last illustrating project and was basically unfinished when he died. The author noted that Caldecott's widow allowed the publisher to use his working sketches in the book.
