New York: E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc, 1929. Cloth. Good/poor. Wilder, James Austin. 12mo, pp. [4]. 5-186, [6]. Fifth printing, 1946. Gray cloth-covered boards with navy accents. Firm binding; no loose pages. Tanned and lightly foxed edges; some small stains on fore-edge towards the end of book which extend a little onto pages. Tanned pages; uneven tanning and light foxing inside covers. Dust jacket with chips and tears, including tears at spine. Some small stains on dust jacket, which is now encased in a clear, protective cover. A good usable copy. From the jacket: "This is a cook-book for boys, written in a rollicking, entertaining style and tells how anybody with only a jack-knife can get himself a good meal if he should suddenly find himself lost in the woods or on a desert island." James Wilder (1868-1934) was a director of the National Department of Sea Scouting and for many years was associated with the Boy Scouts.
