About This Item

London: Raphael Tuck, 1889. Softcover. [1889]. 4to. Colour pictorial card covers. A charming illustrated edition of this verse-story from Barham's much under-appreciated Ingoldsby Legends. Splendid b/w sepia-tinted illustrations and b/w line illustrations throughout. Artist uncredited (or artists - there appear to be two distinct styles). Printed at the Fine Art Works in London. Pencil inscription dated 1891 to blank front endpaper. Book very clean. Binding sound. VG+
