New York: Signet Books, 1966. First Edition - Paperback. Signed by the authors Gordon Langley Hall and Ann Pinchot to their publisher: “For Kurt Enoch, Good wishes, Gordon Langley Hall, 1966”. And just below: “Many greetings to Kurt Enoch from Ann Pinchot” and “Warm greetings to Victor Weybright from Ann Pinchot”. Illustrated with 16 pages of black & white photographs. Near fine slightly handled copy. From the library of Dr. Kurt Enoch (1895-1982) who was a noted German publisher, forced to flee the Nazis, landing in New York in 1940. Dr. Enoch served as President of New American Library - Signet Books which became one of the successful and acclaimed post-war publishing houses. Enoch went on to become one of the most highly regarded figures in American book publishing. Victor Weybright (1903-1978) was an American writer and publisher who helped Kurt Enoch run Penguin Books Inc., subsequently co-founding with him the publishing company New American Library in 1948.
