A most intriguing document actually reporting the proceedings of a fully Nazified (see 1st ill.) international aeronautics conference organized by the Lilienthal Institute and held in Berlin 12-15 October 1938. The first paper is by E. Heinkel himself, and among those participating are people from the U.S. Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory, The Royal Aeronautical Establishment at Farnborough U.K., the French Air Ministry, Rolls-Royce, Transcontinental & Western Air Inc., Sikorsky Aircraft, Conn. (Sikorsky himself no less) and the Bristol Aeroplane Company. Ostensibly they are all happily exhanging highly technical information about numerous aeronautical engineering issues. What the hell was really going on here, 11 months prior to the outbreak of World War 2? To return to the book - internally excellent, clean and unmarked, although some faint incipient edge browning. Blue cloth covers generally good but fr. board a little warped and cl. sl. fraying at hinge ends, corners sl. bumped.
