Signed Limited Edition, number 125 of 250, nicely signed in blue ink on colophon page by author Theressa Gay, 568 pages, Book is as new, never read, quarter bound black cloth spine over marbled brown/tan/white marbled paper boards, gilt titles to spine, ultra clean with No previous owner bookplate or writing, 5 inserts complete in rear pocket. Comprehensive history of the James W. Marshall and the original discovery of Gold in the foothills of California at Sutter's Fort, color frontis portrait of Marshall and some vintage black and white photographs. Book nicely housed in a double slipcase, inner case red paper and outer case is mustard yellow paper with illustration of Marshall on front and rear panels, nice paper title label on spine. Slipcases are Fine. An ultra clean and most presentable signed Limited Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
