First Edition, 1967, 558 pages including index, few black and white photographs, color frontispiece portrait of Marshall, detailed history of finding gold at Sutter's Mill and the California Gold Rush, detailed biography of James W. Marshall, Book is near Fine, publishers very clean mustard cloth with brown title to spine and front board. previous owner bookplate on front paste down (hidden by jacket flap) no other writing. Tight and square with sharp points. Jacket is at least Very Good, rubbing on front panel, sticker pull on spine, with original price intact. Shows nicely in a new mylar sleeve. Clean and most presentable First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
