About This Item

Englewood Cliffs NJ: Prentice-Hall, Inc.. Near Fine in Very Good+ dj. (c.1970). First Edition. Hardcover. 0135097452 . (price-clipped) [minimal shelfwear, agency stamps (H.N. Swanson, Inc.) on ffep and half-title page, small pieces of clear tape on both pastedowns and at edges of both jacket flaps (from where jacket was formerly affixed to pastedowns); the jacket itself is just lightly soiled]. "A fast-paced, amusing, and lyrical narrative about the life in crisis of Saul Bannerman, middle-aged merchandising director of Beauty*Pore Cosmetic Co. Solly has all the material accoutrements of a reasonably successful man in our culture: a wife, a good job, a home in an upper-class suburb. Then out of nowhere comes the thunderbolt. His wife informs him, as he is contentedly eating a pork chop, that she is having an affair." An uncommon novel, apparently the author's only published book; per the jacket blurb, he had written three plays, "one produced off Off-Broadway," but I've been unable to find any information about them. .

About ReadInk

Now in our 24th year of on-line bookselling, ReadInk offers an eclectic selection of quality books in a variety of subject areas. We are dedicated to the first-class treatment of every book we sell and its new owner (our customer). All orders and inquiries receive our prompt, personal attention. Our grading of a book's condition is conservative ("Fine" is our highest grade, and used sparingly); all significant flaws are described, but we will be happy to provide additional information and/or a scanned image upon request. Your book will be shipped promptly, well-wrapped and securely packaged; the dust jacket, if any, will be enclosed in a new Brodart cover.
