Illustrated endpapers. Decorative title-page. Exquisite story of a Japanese doll with unrequited love for a blonde, blue-eyed Caucasian doll. The Japanese doll finds happiness when it returns home to Japan to be with its own kind, rather than with in a land "where folks were so benighted" (unenlightened). This work is profusely illustrated throughout with numerous color drawings by the author. Minor age-wear on binding with spine slightly sunned. Minor age-toning along paper margin. Binding and interior in overall good+ to very good condition.
