Photographic endpapers showing the two sisters and and their caravan. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography. Black coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and to the top book corners. Shelfwear to the lower book edges. Browning and dust marks to the top text block edge and browning to the other text block edges. Very light age toning to the internal pages. Photographic dustwrapper, showing Joan and Betty Rayner against a blurred background with purple and white titles to the front panel and white titles to the backstrip. Rubbing to the dustwrapper corners and to the backstrip edges. Some fading of the dustwrapper panels. The biography of Joan and Betty Rayner, who through the middle part of the 20th century, travelled the world with a caravan putting on theatre performances for all people but with a special emphasis for children. They were invited to Australia and there , in 1948, founded the Australian Children's Theatre. This is the first Australian edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
