Mary Beaumont is the pseudonym of Rosa Oakes. Joan Seaton is a novel set in the author's native Yorkshire, telling the stories of families in a fictional village who have known one another for generations. Percival is spelt Parsifal in the text and on the spine. 303pp plus publisher's list to rear. Gilt design to top board and gilt lettering to spine. Top edges gilt, rest untrimmed. Ribbon page marker. Tissue guarded drawing to frontis. Slight forward lean to spine, boards somewhat grubby, left hinge starting to pull and darkened panel to rear endpaper, otherwise good uninscribed copy..
