A Very Good, red buckram binding with blind stamped emblem on front board and gilt lettering on spine, binding sturdy and intact, some sunning to spine buckram, bit of age toning to pages, some handling/scuffing to boards, scattered foxing to text block edge, slightly bowed boards, spine buckram starting to separate from backing material, small rub mark bottom text block corner, mild stress crease to spine, without Dust wrapper. In a Good, mostly sturdy, but split at rear top, moderate handling marks and shelf wear, Slipcase. A nice, overall clean and unmarked set. 8vo[octavo or approx. 6 x 9], (Vol.1) 683pp., (Vol.2) 747pp., appendix, acknowledgements, indexed, b&w illustrations.
