This volume published in conjunction with the eponympusly named exhibition organized by the Yale University Art Gallery. Not only does the present title showcase many of La Farge's most important oils, watercolors and sketches produced during his sojourn to the islands of the South pacific, but places them firmly within the realm of the larger movement which saw numerous nineteenth century artists and writers travel to exotic locations for fresh inspiration. No previous ownership marks. A clean, crisp, unmarked and like new copy. As new in an as new dust-jacket.
