Gray hardcover cloth binding with gilt title soiled, bumped corners. 224 pages, yellowing foxing. No publisher or date listed; however, introduction in Chapter 1 talks about 1889 flood as if it was fairly recent. Probably c. 1890. Several pages of faded b/w photos before the title page. Narrative on title page: " A thriving city of 30,000 inhabitants and many great industrial establishments nearly wiped from earth. Many thousands drowned or burned to death." Narrative was gathered from accounts of correspondents, eyewitnesses, refugees.. Illus. by photos. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket.
