Small green hardcover, gilt lettering and embossed decorative tree branch on spine and front cover, red and black decorative band on spine. Green floral endpapers, 365 pages, blank page, followed by 18 pages of ads for publisher's books (with period illustrations of the characters), last book listed "A Flatiron for a Farthing". Cover rather worn but lettering bright (cover split halfway down upper rear edge of spine, cover worn through at top and bottom of spine and tips of corners, cover lightly worn otherwise). Binding stitching broken and four signatures are loose. Name in old pen dated Nov. 1886, otherwise unmarked.
