Very Good+/Very Good. 2 Volume Hardcover Set, Stated First Edition 1927 Doubleday, Page & Co. - Vol 1 is 339 pages and Vol 2 is 376 pages including the extensive bibliography and index. Both volumes are Very Good, in VG DJ’s. Blue cloth boards with gilt titles, TEG - corners sharp. Minor shelf/edge wear, dust soiling and some chipping to unclipped DJ’s - now in mylar. Spine of DJ’s are sun-darkened but front panels are unaffected. Dust jackets are a bright yellow background with black lllustrations of a ship at sea. Dust jacket art is a woodcut from “Iron Men and Wooden Ships”. Previous owner address label at top of inside front cover - all pages are bright, clean and crisp with deckled edges. Great biography that springs from hundreds of Conrad's letters, most of which were written to his friends and contemporaries. A very handsome First Edition set. LOC SSS-23
