The catalogue issued in conjunction with the 1980-81 exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, a retrospective providing a comprehensive review of American surrealist Joseph Cornell's, work from the 1930s to the 1970s. 296 pages, 8 1/2 x 11 inches, with over 300 illustrations, 32 in full color. Included are essays by Dawn Ades, Carter Ratcliff, P. Adams Sitney and a biography by Lynda Roscoe Hartigan as well as a bibliography and a list of illustraions. Thin-card pictorial covers show only minor bumping at the spine ends, light surface and edgewear, no tears or creasing, not remaindered. The text is clean and unmarked, tight and square.
