Gilt on chocolate cloth boards. 292pp 8vo. tipped-in cold.frontis. illustrated b/w sketches, photograph of author, map. 0.6kg De Vylder was a Swedish naturalist who, after a year's stay in Cape Town, journeyed through present-day Nambia collecting insects and other natural-history specimensfpr institutions in his own country. This was before the German occupation and when the European presence was restricted to a few missionaries, traders, and travellers.
