New York: New York Times and Arno Press, 1968. Reissue. Hardcover. Fine. Hardcover in alternating brown and blue cloth stamped in silver. Fine, issued without dust jacket. 97 pp. with three folding reproductions of key public proclaimations. `Reprint of the 1894 edition published by Borquin, Philadelphia which in turn was produced from Boudinot's original manuscript. Elias Boudinot (1740-1821) born in Pennsylvania but who spent most of his life in Elizabeth and later in Burlington, New Jersey, was elected to New Jersey's Provincial Assembly in 1775 and was commissioned a colonel in the Continental Army by Washington. He was a member of the Second Continental Congress and in 1782 was elected President of the Continental Congress. He was one of New Jersey's original members of the House of Representatives under the new Constitution and in 1795 was named Director of the U.S. Mint by President Washington.
