London, John Murray, 1815, Second edition, revised and corrected with additions, the first edition was also 1815. . later cloth with gilt spine title lettering, bookplate on endpaper, library inkstamps on title, title page worn, soiled & with short tear, repair on verso map, 2 leaves with repair, lightly foxed on some leaves, but a good sound & otherwise clean copy. . 4to [28 x 21 cm]; xvii, [i, glossary], 373 pp, engraved foldout map showing author's routes in yellow, blue and red, with the section titles, illustrations including one of African bridge. . This is the journal of Park's second African expedition begun in 1805 to explore by canoe and find the source of the Niger, where he subsequently died trying. It is proceeded with a detailed memoir of his life, and Isaaco's journal and Amadi Fatouma's journal at the end of the book, with six appendices. Hilmy II, 93. See Printing and the Mind of Man 253.
