John Murray, 1888. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1888. Eighteenth Thousand. 519 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Rough-cut and uncut pages. Publisher's catalogue to rear. Noticeable cracking to front hinge and gutters causing front board and pages 289-336 to be loose. Mild foxing and tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Occasional thumb-marking to some pages. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild water staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Noticeable dent to rear board.
