Ward Lock, London., 1905. Reprint. Octavo. pp xiv, 500. Illustrations. Period school prize binding by Bickers of full red polished calf with raised bands, all edges gilt. On the covers are the gilt insignia of the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Penrith. On the front pastedown is the school's prize label, dated 1907 and signed by the Head Master, for G.E.C. Thomson. A handwritten note pasted below the label states, ''killed in action Battle of Somme 1917 aged 20 years''.Spine a bit faded with some surface wear. Very good.
