The Admiralty copy, possibly the original presentation. "Parry's (second) voyage, which had taken him through the Parry Channel three quarters of the way across the Canadian Arctic Archipelago was probably the single most productive voyage in the quest for the Northwest Passage..." That voyage, described in this narrative, commenced in April 1821.

On this second voyage Parry "again left for the Arctic commanding HMS Fury accompanied by HMS Hecla under George Francis Lyon. ...the goal this time was to find a passage near the northwest end of Hudson Bay..."

4to. Expertly rebound with original(?) leather spine, very delicately colored marbled paper sides. [4] xxx [2] 571pp. 30 plates (4 folding). 9 maps (5 folding). Parry entered by Hudson and Frozen Straits, explored Repulse Bay, Lyon inlet, wintered at Winer Is, discovered Fury & Hecia St, wintered at Igloolik. Very descriptive of Esquimaux.
