London: L.B. Seeley, 1818. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Original marbled boards, true first edition, large fold out map as frontispiece, all twelve colour plates and four mono plates present and in fine condition. New buckram spine and end papers added 1954, previous owner's inscription outlining the history of the book handed down the last three generations of the Mossop family being early Cape settlers and industrialists. Boards scuffed and bumped, folds running down title and dedication pages, tape repair on tape one (old conservation tape rather than cellotape).
