Illustrated by Edward Riou all present but one, lacking "Gigantic Inhabitants" on page 246. Blind embossed green cloth stamped in black and gilt. 305pp., [10pp. advertisements.] Gutters cracked, a few pages loose and laid in with narrow tideline on top page edges, cloth is soiled and mottled, small hole near top edge of spine, a fair only copy.
Synopsis
Journey to the Centre of the Earth, also translated as A Journey to the Interior of the Earth, is a classic 1864 science fiction novel by Jules Verne. The story involves a German professor (Otto Lidenbrock in the original French, Professor Von Hardwigg in the most common English translation) who believes there are volcanic tubes going toward the center of the Earth.
