Rhina Toruño-Haensly, Ph.D., is a literary critic, essayist, translator and professor at the University of Texas Permian Basin. She has two PhDs, one in Literature from the University of Indiana-Bloomington and one in Philosophy from the University of Leuven, Belgium, as well as an MBA from the University of Paris. She is a corresponding member of La Academia Salvadoreña de La Lengua since 1995. She has published 'Tiempo, destino y opresión en la obra de Elena Garro' (Time, Destination and Oppression in the Work of Elena Garro) 1996. and 'Cita con la memoria' (Appointment with Memory) 2004. She has also published over fifty articles in French, English and Spanish, on philosophy and literarture. Ardis L. Nelson, Ph. D., is a professor, literary critic, essayist and editor. She earned a B.A. in French at Oberlin College, a M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College in Madrid, and a Ph.D. in Hispanic Literature from Indiana University-Bloomington. She has written 'Cabrera Infante in the Menippe Tradition (1983), edited 'Guillermo Cabrera Infante: Assays, Essays, and Other Arts '(1999). She has also published twenty-five essays on various authors, from Miguel de Cervantes to Carmen Naranjo.'Juan Felipe Toruño en dos mundos' (Juan Felipe Toruño in two worlds) is a collection of critical essays on Toruño's work as a novelist, poet and journalist.
