New York: Judge Company Publishers, 1912. First Edition. Very good, a bright image. Original color lithograph by Grant E. Hamilton, the piece measures 8.75" x 11.75";. Judge was a weekly satirical magazine published in the United States from 1881 to 1947. It was launched by artists who had seceded from its rival Puck. The founders included cartoonist James Albert Wales, dime novels publisher Frank Tousey and author George H. Jessop. An anti-TR cartoon changing the British Crown into and American Crown with a rampant elephant and the legend "Dictator"

Full page cover of JUDGE magazine for October 6, 1888 titled THE PAUPER LABOR BADGE featuring a color lithograph showing two images of silk political badges featuring a likeness of Grover Cleveland - Democratic Candidate for President. The story describes U.K. support for Cleveland as the true "Free Trade" candidate. The report points out that "Enormous quantities of this English silk badge passed through the Customs House on June 5th -- Cleveland was nominated on June 6th. The English knew whom they wanted!" The 1888 Presidential Election featured incumbent President Grover Cleveland as the Democratic nominee and Benjamin Harrison as the Republican nominee.
