LONDON: CHATTO & WINDUS Brown Cloth Boards with gilt titles to spine, 260 x 195 mm approx. xvi + 270 pp + press reviews of author's previous work With a Camera in Tiger-land. 94 b/w photos (of 95 listed). Undated [1934]. After war service with the British Indian Army in WWI he joined the Imperial Forestry Service in the United Provinces of India and became Deputy Conservator of Forests. he abhorred shooting and killing preferring shooting wildlife with a camera in the Sivalik Hills. He pioneered camera trapping and developed cameras triggered by tripwires obtaining remarkable night-time photographs, which were among the first of wild tigers, leopards, sloth bears, dholes and other wildlife.
