Folds as issued with small repair to left margin, otherwise in good condition.<br/> <br/> Charming 19th c map centered on the Caribbean circa 1500. The map is based on the first Western depiction of the new world by Juan de la Cosa. The Cosa map ended up in a junk shop in Paris and was identified as important by Alexander van Humboldt in 1832. From the rare Nieuwe hand atlas der aarde 25 kaarten, (New Hand Atlas of the Earth in 25 Maps).<br/> <br/>
