A lovely uncorrected proof of the first American edition [Northwestern (Evanston 1997)], signed by author Imre Kertesz directly on the title page. Imre Kertesz won the 2002 Nobel Prize for Literature and signed proofs of his works are scarce. This proof is in near fine condition with some fading to the spine and cover but no remainder marks, a tight and square binding, no creases, chips or tears, with no owner inscriptions or highlighting and no staining or marking.
