Blue coloured boards with gilt decoration and titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Part of the Kai Lung series written in the 1920s and 30s, with sly humour and subtle digs. Softening of the backstrip images with bumping of the book corners and rubbing of the lower book edges. A little flecking to the lower book edges. Light browning of the text block edges with faint foxing to the top text block edge. Age toning of the textbook edges. Gift inscription to the free front end paper. Offset tanning and quite heavy foxing to the endpapers. Chipping to the dustwrapper edges and backstrip edges. Small tears to the dustwrapper edges and splits to the fold over creases. Sunning of the backstrip with the results of insect activity also present. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
