Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Clipped jacket has light edge-wear with minor tears and chipping. Mild rubbing and marking.

Black cloth boards with gilt titles. Just a whisper of shelf/edge wear - corners sharp. Both boards have a slight upward tilt due to having been bound too tightly. Interior pages are tight, clean and crisp - no prior owner marks. DJ is unclipped, with mild shelf/edge wear and soiling. Price sticker of previous bookstore remains on upper right corner of front panel. DJ is now in mylar. The author is an English explorer-mountaineer. He describes a courageous expedition which included intolerable weather, impassable ravines and swift avalanches. The story is abundantly illustrated through B&W photos and maps. LOC SSS-18
