About This Item

George Routledge & Sons Limited, 1890. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG-/VG-. 7.7 x 10.2 cm yellow cloth backed paper covered pictorial boards with green leaf boarders. All edges yellow, teal endpapers, unpaginated (24)pp with 12 pages each with colour pictorial boarders with details of each month and 10 full page colour illustrations including decorative title page. With original dust jacket/ postage wrapper. [Schuster& Egan 11. 9a)] The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are clean and bright with firm sharp corners. There is a little dust staining to the very tips of the spine and the spine itself has some bumping and bruising but remains firm. Internally the book is without name inscription or bookplate and is generally clean and bright although there is a mark from the adhesive edge on the dust wrapper on the front pastedown that has transferred a little onto the front free endpaper. The rear endpapers have a tidemark that runs across them but this not visible anywhere else in the book. The scarce delicate dust wrapper which is now protected in a removable, clear rigid plastic cover (not shown) has a little dust staining and minimal loss to the corners and spine tips. There are three closed tears of 1.5 cm and one of 0.5 cm as well as a smaller closed tear in the middle of the jacket spine. All in all a very presentable copy in its scarce original jacket. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
